At least two people have been confirmed dead and more than 50 others, mostly students, sustained critical burn injuries after a Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed into the Milestone School and College campus in Dhaka’s Uttara on Monday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Md. Tanvir Ahmed, an 8th-grade student of the English version section, and Junaid, a 3rd-grade student. Their bodies were taken to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman, the on-duty residential surgeon at the burn institute, said over 50 people — including women and children — have been brought in for emergency treatment. “Most of them are students, and their condition is critical. We are currently providing emergency care,” he said.

Victims began arriving at the burn institute around 2:30 PM following the crash, which occurred at approximately 1:30 PM. The aircraft, an F-7 BGI training jet of the Bangladesh Air Force, crashed into a building of Milestone School and College named *Haider Hall*, setting off a major fire.

According to Fire Service officials, one fatality was initially confirmed at the crash site, while four injured individuals were airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka by an Air Force helicopter.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed the crash and identified the aircraft as a Bangladesh Air Force F-7 BGI.

Following the incident, a coordinated rescue operation was launched involving the Fire Service, Army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Police, and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). Emergency crews worked to extinguish the flames and evacuate victims from the affected building.

The cause of the crash is yet to be officially determined.
