CA holds fresh round of talks with 14 political parties

Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Saturday held another round of consultations with political parties amid ongoing efforts to address the country’s evolving political landscape.

The hour-long meeting, held at the State Guest House Jamuna from 5 PM, brought together representatives from 14 political parties, according to a statement from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

Participants included Aminul Haque Tipu Biswas of Jatiya Gonofront, Mustafa Jamal Haider from the 12-party alliance, Maulana Abdul Majed Athari of Nejam-e-Islam Party, Maulana Yusuf Ashraf from Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, Fariduzzaman Farhad of the National People's Party (NPP), Jatiya Dal Chairman Syed Ehsanul Huda, Dr. Mushtaq Hossain of Bangladesh Jasad, Bobby Hajjaj of the Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM), Shamim Haider from Zaker Party, Mufti Sakhawat Hossain Razi of Islami Oikya Jote, Rafiqul Islam Bablu of Bhashani Janashakti Party, Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Iran of Bangladesh Labour Party, Masud Rana of BSD (Marxist), and Manjurul Islam Afendi from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.

The meeting follows a previous session held last week in which the Chief Adviser engaged with 17 other political parties, including major players like the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, and the Nationalist Constitutional Party (NCP).

While the details of this discussions were not disclosed, sources familiar with the talks indicated that the focus was on ensuring political stability, electoral reforms, and a broad-based national consensus.
