4 DIGs sent on forced retirement

The government has sent four Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) into forced retirement, citing public interest.

On Monday, the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued separate gazette notifications announcing the decision. 

The orders were signed by Senior Secretary Nasimul Ghani on behalf of the President.

The four officers are -- Atika Islam, DIG attached to the Dhaka Range DIG Office;  Mohammad Mahbub Alam, DIG attached to Dhaka Railway Police;  Monir Hossain, DIG attached to Industrial Police;
 AKM Nahidul Islam, DIG attached to Dhaka Police Telecom.

According to the notifications, all four officers have been sent on mandatory retirement "in public interest" and will receive retirement benefits as per government regulations.
