CA Reads Out July Proclamation From South Plaza Of JS

Declaring the martyrs of the July Uprising 'National Heroes,' Chief Adviser Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday assured that the July Uprising victims and their families will be given legal protection.

The trial of killing by the fascist Awami League regime would also be ensured, he asserted.

The Chief Adviser gave the announcement while reading out the July Declaration at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad in Dhaka at around 5:00pm at a massive gathering who turned out to celebrate the first anninversary of the July Uprising that ousted Sheikh Hasina's fascist regime last year.

Central leaders of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islmai, National Citizens' Party (NCP) and other political parties were standing beside the Chief Adviser when he announced the historic July Declaration.

The declaration elaborated about the Sheikh Hasina's exit from the country amid the students mass uprising on August 6 last year. 

It said, a people mass uprising on August 5, people marched to Dhaka. In the final stage of movement, with students, political parties and people from all walks of life joining together, to oust fascist Sheikh Hasina and forced to resign and flee the country. 

The declaration said that the people began a non-cooperation movement after the student movement started against discrimination. The goal was to remove the illegal Sheikh Hasina government, end the fascist system, and start a new political process. 

The declaration also says that the people of Bangladesh are committed to quickly and properly punish crimes like disappearances, murder, genocide, crimes against humanity, torture, oppression and the looting of state property. 


These crimes were committed by the fascist Awami League government during the 16 years of anti-fascist struggle and during the July 2024 mass uprising.

It says that this declaration shows the hopes and dreams of the people of Bangladesh, who won the mass uprising on August 5, 2024.

The declaration says that the student and people's uprising of 2024 will get proper state and constitutional recognition. 

It also said, this declaration will be added to the revised constitution of the next elected government."

Declaration said that, people of Bangladesh express their desire for ensuring good governance and fair elections, rule of law and economic and social justice, and for introducing lawfully democratic reforms for all state and constitutional institutions.

"Aspirations for establishing a society and a democratic state system that upholds rule of law and human rights and moral values, and is free from corruption and exploitation also take priority in people desire," the declaration added. 
 
People want to protect the rights of the present and the future generations through an environmental friendly, climate resilient, sustainable and inclusive development strategy. 

Among others, Bangladesh Nationalist Party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, National Citizen Party Convener Nahid Islam, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Ganosamhati Andolan Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki were present by the side of the Chief Adviser when he read out the July Declaration.
