BTCL gets new MD

Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) announces that Engineer Md Mamunur Rashid has assumed office as Managing Director (MD), effective from Monday.

Drawing on his extensive experience as Deputy Managing Director, Engineer Rashid is well-positioned to provide strong leadership and contribute to BTCL's strategic direction.

Engr Rashid completed his early education under the Dhaka Board, later earning degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications, and Business Administration from BUET, Waseda University (Japan), and IBA (University of Dhaka), respectively.

He entered public service through the 13th BCS (Telecom Cadre) and joined the former Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board as Assistant Divisional Engineer in 1994. He was promoted sequentially to Sub-Divisional Engineer (2002), Divisional Engineer (2010), Director (2019), and Principal (2024), assuming various technical and managerial roles.
