The Election Commission (EC) has amended its Polling Station Establishment and Management Policy-2025, increasing the number of voters assigned to each booth for the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad elections.

According to the revised policy, male polling booths will now accommodate up to 600 voters, compared to 500 previously, while female booths will serve 500 voters, up from 400. Each polling centre will be designated for a total of 3,000 voters.

The amendment was announced in a notice signed on Monday by EC Secretariat Deputy Secretary Md Mahbub Alam Shah.

The commission said the changes are intended to streamline voting arrangements and ensure more efficient management on election day.
