Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) carried out a special cleanliness and combing operation in Dhalpur on Sunday to prevent the spread of Aides mosquito-borne dengue.

The drive was conducted in Ward-49 of DSCC Region-5, covering Adarsha High School, Dhalpur, and adjacent areas. The program was jointly organized by DSCC and the BRAC Health Programme as part of their ongoing anti-dengue campaign.

DSCC's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md. Zahirul Islam attended the event as the chief guest.

Participants in the operation included DSCC's waste management and health departments, school students, and local residents. Together, they worked to eliminate breeding grounds of Aides mosquitoes while promoting awareness about cleanliness and dengue prevention.

In his remarks, CEO Md. Zahirul Islam emphasized the importance of building preventive habits from childhood.

"Prevention should begin at an early age. Each student should spread awareness about cleanliness within their families and neighbourhoods," he said.

He further suggested that schools gradually engage students in cleanliness activities so that "cleanliness becomes a way of life."

Expressing gratitude to the BRAC Health Programme for its active support, he announced that combing operations will be carried out in every ward under DSCC to ensure dengue prevention.
