Chinese embassy warns of irregularities in medical visa applications

The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh has issued an important notice regarding applications for medical treatment visas, warning applicants against errors and irregularities by travel agencies that may cause delays or rejection.

In a post on its official Facebook page on Monday, the embassy said that recently some medical treatment visa applications had been returned due to lapses or mistakes by travel agencies in completing online application forms, as well as the submission of fabricated invitation letters.

These issues, it noted, have resulted in financial losses for applicants.

To protect applicants' legitimate rights and interests and to identify non-compliance promptly, the embassy said the online application form has been updated, making the "Travel Agency Guarantee Letter" a mandatory requirement. Applications submitted online without this document will be returned.

The embassy advised applicants to closely supervise the travel agencies handling their visa applications and to ensure that all required documents are submitted strictly in line with the relevant requirements to avoid delays in processing.

It also said applicants who fail to obtain visas within the expected timeframe should immediately follow up with the concerned travel agencies. Applicants were cautioned not to be misled by false or exaggerated claims by agencies or individuals, including overstating the difficulty of visa processing or arbitrarily increasing visa fees.

The embassy warned that if a travel agency omits required information, provides incorrect details, submits fabricated invitation letters or fails to process online applications in a timely manner -- thereby infringing upon applicants' rights -- it may temporarily or permanently suspend acceptance of visa application materials from that agency.
