The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has published the results of 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) preliminary examination, with 10,644 candidates qualifying.

The results were released on PSC website on Sunday night (September 28), signed by Exam Controller (Cadre) Masuma Afrin.

According to the announcement, the written examination for successful candidates will be held in November.

The preliminary test was conducted on September 19 from 10AM to 12PM at 262 educational institutions across eight divisional cities.

A total of 374,747 candidates had applied to sit for the exam.

The 47th BCS circular, issued on 28 November last year, announced recruitment for 3,487 cadre posts and 201 non-cadre positions.

This edition of the BCS introduced several changes: the viva voce marks were reduced from 200 to 100, bringing the total marks down from 1,100 to 1,000, while the maximum age limit for applicants was raised to 32 years for the first time.

The PSC had earlier unveiled a roadmap on 3 June to resolve scheduling conflicts surrounding the 44th to 48th BCS exams, under which the 47th preliminary results were released as planned today.
