Nearly three decades after the death of popular Dhallywood actor Salman Shah, police have filed a murder case against 11 individuals, including his former wife Samira Huq. Authorities have sent the accused's details to immigration to prevent them from leaving the country.

Ramna Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Faruk confirmed the development on Saturday, saying the case was filed under a court directive, naming 11 people and several unidentified others.

"We are trying to locate the accused. Some may be abroad, and efforts are underway using mobile tracking and other technologies to identify those in the country. The immigration department has been alerted to prevent them from fleeing," the OC said. He emphasized that there is no external pressure on the investigation and assured that the suspects will be arrested soon.

The case was filed late on October 21 by Salman Shah's uncle, Alamgir Kumkum, at Ramna Police Station, accusing several individuals of murder. Among those named in the First Information Report (FIR) are Samira Huq, businessman Aziz Mohammad Bhai, Latifa Huq Lucy, and actor Don, along with others.

Salman Shah's body was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his Eskaton residence in Dhaka on September 6, 1996, and the death was initially registered as unnatural. After nearly 30 years of investigation, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) concluded in its final report that he died by suicide.

However, Salman Shah's mother, Neela Chowdhury, has consistently rejected that conclusion, insisting her son was murdered in a planned manner.
