Faijul Siddik, 4 others get TIB Investigative Journalism Award

Md Faijul Alam Siddik, Special Correspondent of Star News and former Channel 24 journalist, has received the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) Investigative Journalism Award 2025. 

He was honoured alongside four other journalists in different categories at a ceremony on Tuesday at TIB's Dhaka office. In the Television (Documentary) category, Faijul received a certificate of honor, a crest, and a cash prize of Tk 150,000 for his 43-minute documentary Jontrer Jatakole Krishok, which exposed extensive corruption in the Tk 3,025 crore agricultural mechanization project. The documentary aired on Channel 24's Searchlight program.

Following the documentary, the Ministry of Agriculture took action. The then-Project Director, eight BCS agriculture cadre officers, and one accounts officer were dismissed, while the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed cases against 48 officials.
