Anwara Park in Farmgate has been reopened to the public after being closed for nearly seven years due to metro rail construction works.
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) formally handed over the park to Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Friday, allowing residents to once again access the popular place.
The handover ceremony was attended by DNCC Administrator Mohammad Ejaz and DMTCL Managing Director Faruk Ahmed.
Anwara Park had remained closed since 2018 due to metro rail construction works. Its reopening marks the restoration of an important recreational space in one of the city's busiest areas, bringing relief to local residents and commuters.
