Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has announced plans to build a state apparatus "free from drugs, terrorism and youth gangs," while pledging institutional reforms to restore academic standards and enforce administrative probity.
He emphasised that the ruling BNP has prioritised the education sector within its first 180 days in office.
The minister made the remarks during an official consultative meeting with local administrative officials in Kachua under Chandpur on Friday afternoon.
He outlined a governance framework combining regulatory enforcement, institutional audits, and disciplinary oversight.
"Maximum efforts will be made to restore the quality of education by overcoming all challenges," he said, acknowledging systemic weaknesses at all levels and promising quick corrective measures.
Setting out law-and-order directives, Milon warned that teenagers roaming streets at night will be questioned by police and indicated stricter monitoring to prevent potential violence.
He said Kachua Upazila would be made "drug free, terrorism free and eve teasing free," framing it as a pilot initiative with broader policy implications.
Referring to national leadership, he stated that the government under Tarique Rahman would adopt a strict stance on eradicating drugs and juvenile gangs in educational institutions.
Addressing civil servants, he pledged, "I will not commit corruption in my life, I will not let anyone commit corruption… Those who cannot abide by this, please transfer and go elsewhere."
