9 poets, writers to receive Bangla Academy literary award 2025

The recipients of Bangla Academy Literary Award 2025 have been announced, with nine poets and writers selected for the prestigious honour this year.

The announcement was made on Monday through a press release signed by Bangla Academy Director General Professor Mohammad Azam.

According to the release, the awards will be formally handed over by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the opening ceremony of Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 on February 26.

The winners of the Bangla Academy Literary Award 2025 are:

Poetry: Mohon Raihan

Fiction: Nasima Anis

Essay/Prose: Syed Azizul Haque

Children’s Literature: Hasan Hafiz

Translation: Ali Ahmad

Research: Mustafa Majid and Israel Khan

Science: Farsim Mannan Mohammadi

Liberation War: Moeidul Hasan
