Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has reduced gold prices by Tk4,374 per bhori, bringing the price of 22-carat gold down to Tk228,556 per bhori, including VAT.
The revised prices came into effect from 10:00AM on Friday, according to a BAJUS statement. The association said the adjustment was made following a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market.
Under the new rates, 21-carat gold will be sold at Tk222,491 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been set at Tk191,056 per bhori. Gold produced through the traditional method will cost Tk156,064 per bhori.
BAJUS had last adjusted gold prices on Thursday, increasing the rate by Tk2,508 per bhori due to VAT adjustments. At that time, 22-carat gold was priced at Tk232,930 per bhori.
This marks the 77th gold price revision in the domestic market this year. So far, BAJUS has increased prices 39 times, reduced them 37 times, and made one VAT-related adjustment.
In 2025, gold prices were revised 93 times, including 64 increases and 29 reductions.
