The Election Commission of Bangladesh (EC) has given candidates the opportunity to appeal against decisions made by Returning Officers (RO) during the scrutiny of nomination papers for the upcoming by-elections in Sherpur-3 and Bogura-6 constituencies.

Aggrieved candidates will be able to file appeals with the Election Commission from March 6 to March 10 during office hours, officials from the EC's Election Management Branch confirmed on Wednesday (March 4).

The commission said scrutiny of nomination papers in both constituencies has already been completed by the respective returning officers.

Voting in Sherpur-3 was postponed during the February 12 13th Jatiya Sangsad election following the death of a valid candidate.

In Bogura-6, nomination papers were filed by Md Abidur Rahman of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Md Rezaul Karim Badsha of BNP, and Md Al Alim Talukder of Bangladesh Development Party.
