BRTC to launch 'Women Bus Service'

The government has taken an initiative to launch 'Women Bus Service' to ensure safe and comfortable movement for women in the country.

As per the Prime Minister's directives, Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) has taken the initiative to launch the special bus service for women, said a notification issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting today.

BRTC has already started the necessary preparations to implement the Prime Minister's directives. 

This bus service will be completely operated by women, while the drivers, conductors and helpers of the buses will be women, the notification said.
