Speaker Hafiz Uddin's wife placed on ventilation in critical condition

Mrs. Dilara Hafiz, wife of National Parliament Speaker Hafiz Uddin Bir Bikrom, is in critical condition and has been placed on ventilator support at Singapore General Hospital, party officials confirmed on Friday.

BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan said Mrs. Dilara Hafiz is undergoing advanced treatment at the hospital and remains in a critical state. 

A medical board meeting is scheduled for Saturday morning to assess her latest condition and determine the next course of treatment.

Mrs. Dilara Hafiz had been receiving treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for an extended period. When her condition did not improve as expected, she was airlifted to Singapore by air ambulance on the afternoon of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Shayrul Kabir Khan also confirmed that BNP Standing Committee member and Prime Minister's Adviser Mirza Abbas is currently being treated in the coronary care unit (CCU) at the same hospital in Singapore. 

He said Abbas is recovering well, and his family members expect him to be moved to a regular cabin within the next few days on medical advice.
