A Dhaka court has placed former DGFI Director General Lt Gen (retd) Sheikh Mamun Khaled on a fresh six-day remand in a Mirpur murder case linked to an anti-discrimination movement.
He was produced before the court on Tuesday (March 31) after completing a five-day remand. Investigators sought seven more days to probe the case further.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jewel Rana granted the remand after hearing both sides.
Khaled was arrested in Mirpur on March 25. According to the case, Delwar Hossain was shot during an attack on a protest on July 19, 2024 and died two days later. The case was filed in July 2025.
