DGHS suspends staff leave nationwide amid measles outbreak

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has cancelled all leave for its doctors, officials and employees across the country as the country faces an ongoing measles outbreak affecting children.

A Public Relations Officer (PRO) confirmed on Friday that the directive was issued through an official order on April 2.

According to the order, signed by DGHS Director (Administration) Professor Dr. Jalal Uddin Mohammad Rumi, all forms of leave for doctors, health workers and staff working under DGHS and its affiliated institutions have been suspended until further notice.

The decision aims to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services and support intensified measles vaccination efforts during the emergency, particularly as cases of measles-related pneumonia among children continue to rise.
