Mahdi Amin, Saleh Shibly made spokespersons for PMO

Prime Minister's Adviser Mahdi Amin and Press Secretary Abu Abdullah M Saleh - better known as Saleh Shibly - have been made spokespersons for the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

The Prime Minister's Office issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.

According to the notification, under Rule 28(4) of the Rules of Business, 1996, Mahdi Amin and Saleh Shibly will act as spokespersons for providing and disseminating official information related to the Prime Minister's Office to the press, media and other platforms.

Among the Advisers holding the status of state minister, Mahdi Amin is in charge of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Ahead of the 13th parliamentary election, Mahdi Amin played an important role in the BNP's central election steering committee and also served as its spokesperson.

During the election period, he regularly presented the party's position on different issues from the party's election office in Gulshan.

On February 19, the government appointed Saleh Shibly as Press Secretary to the Prime Minister with the status of secretary.

Earlier, on January 3, he was appointed Press Secretary to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman. He has been working closely with Tarique Rahman for several decades.    �"UNB
