Jamalpur AL leader Ziaul dies in jail

  
JAMALPUR, April 15: A district Awami League (AL) leader agriculturist SM Ziaul Haque Zia died in the custody of the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) on Tuesday night.

He breathed his last 9pm while undergoing treatment at the MMCH.  

Jamalpur District Jail Superintendent Mohammad Shafiul Alam said, Zia had been in the custody in connection with an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) case since his arrest.

On Tuesday, Zia fell ill around 1pm. He was first taken to Jamalpur General Hospital around 2pm. As his condition deteriorated, doctors referred him to the MMCH for advanced treatment.
