The central committee of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has expelled two leaders and formed an investigation committee following Friday's violent clash between two factions of the student organization at Mymensingh Medical College (MMC).

According to a press release issued Saturday night by JCD Office Secretary Md Jahangir Alam, senior joint convener Nure Jawad Rutap has been stripped of his organizational post and Nafiul Islam has been expelled from his primary membership for breaching organizational discipline.

The clash erupted on Friday night over a trivial dispute regarding fueling motorcycle.
The altercation, involving supporters of JCD convener Tanvir Abdullah and those of Nure Jawad Rutap, escalated into a physical fight that left two students-- Md Muaj and Mir Hamidur-- injured critically.

Both are currently receiving treatment, Muaj transferred to Dhaka for advanced care.

In response to the clash central JCD has formed a one-member probe committee led by Vice President Hafizur Rahman Sohan, with a mandate to submit a report within 12 hours.

MMC authorities have suspended all classes and exams for seven days and ordered students to vacate dormitories immediately.

Academic Council has launched its own three-member investigation, headed by Prof. Dr. Seheli Jannat Sultana, which will be completed within a week.

Police intervention was required to bring the situation under control on Friday night, during which one student was detained from the scene.

The campus remains under close monitoring to prevent further clash.
