Four more die with measles

The number of measles cases in the country is continuing to increase unabated  with the death toll going up also.

Official sources said, in order to curb the outbreak, a nationwide measles vaccination campaign begins today (Monday).

The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS reported on Sunday afternoon that four more people died in the last 24 hours from measles and its symptoms across the country.

According to official data, since March 15, a total of 36 people have died of  confirmed measles, while 181 deaths symptomatic. 

During the same period, 3,443 cases of measles were confirmed, while 23,606 suspected cases were recorded. So far, 15,326 patients have been hospitalized with suspected measles. And 12,396 have been discharged.
