5 DIGs promoted to additional IGP, 2 elevated to grade-1

The government has promoted five Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Police to the rank of Additional Inspector General (Additional IGP), while two Additional IGPs have been elevated to Grade-1 posts.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued two separate notifications in this regard on Thursday.

According to the notifications, the newly promoted Additional IGPs will be placed in Grade-2 of the National Pay Scale 2015, while the two senior officers elevated from Additional IGP rank have been placed in Grade-1.

The promoted officers have been asked to submit their joining letters to the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs through proper authorities.

Those promoted from DIG to Additional IGP include DIG of Sylhet Range Mushfequl Rahman, Director (DIG) of the National Security Intelligence (NSI) Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, DIG of Chattogram Range Moniruzzaman, Additional Director General (DIG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Faruk Ahmed and DIG of Dhaka Range Rezaul Karim Mallik.

Meanwhile, Additional IGPs Delwar Hossain Miah of Highway Police and A K M Awlad Hossain of Police Headquarters have been promoted to Grade-1 positions.
