Youth held with hemp in Bagerhat

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) arrested an alleged drug peddler along with 13 kilograms of hemp in Bagerhat’s Fakirhat upazila early Tuesday.

The arrested was identified as Md Ibrahim Howlader, 19, a resident of Gagan Babu Road area under Khulna Sadar Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team of RAB-6 conducted a drive in Katakhali Mor area under Fakirhat Police Station in the early hours and arrested the youth along with 13 kg of hemp from his possession.

RAB-6 Media Cell confirmed the incident through a press release and said that the recovered hemp and the accused were later handed over to Fakirhat Model Police Station. A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act.

Fakirhat Model Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Saiful Islam confirmed the incident and said that legal procedures are underway.
