Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has outlined Tehran’s key "red lines" in messages conveyed to the United States through Pakistan, according to Iranian state media.

“These messages concern some of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s red lines including nuclear issues and the Strait of Hormuz,” said Fars news agency, which is close to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

“Informed sources emphasize Mr Araghchi is acting entirely within the framework of the specified red lines and the diplomatic duties of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

It added the messages relayed are “unrelated to negotiations and is considered an initiative by Iran to clarify the regional situation”.
