BAUPHAL, PATUAKHALI, Apr 30: Eight examinees have been expelled from the SSC English First Paper examination at Kalishuri S A Institution centre for marking their question papers.
In connection with this incident, two teachers who were on duty as room invigilators have been relieved of their responsibilities.
According to sources, a vigilance team from the Barisal Education Board made a surprise visit to the centre on Sunday during the examination.
The head of the vigilance team, Professor Md. Asaduzzaman, Department of Biology, Barisal Government BM College, entered room number 202. At that time, he noticed that eight examinees in that room had markings on their question papers and immediately expelled them.
Among the expelled students, four are from Indrakul Secondary School in Bauphal, and the other four are from Kankradha Secondary School in Bakerganj.
Meanwhile, due to negligence of duty as room invigilators, two teachers from Kalishuri Hazera Talukdar Girls' Secondary School - Shankar Chandra and Shirin Akter - have been relieved of their duties.
Centre Secretary Yusuf Ali confirmed the matter and said that a total of 676 examinees sat for the SSC examination at his centre. The vigilance team visited the centre around 11 am.
