Pipeline rupture causes gas outage in Gulshan, Banani

Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution PLC has cut off the gas supply to several neighborhoods in Dhaka, including Gulshan, Banani, and Baridhara, following a pipeline breach on Sunday.

The state-owned utility provider confirmed in a public notice that the damage occurred in the Gulshan-Badda Link Road area.

Technicians were forced to shut down supply valves immediately as a safety precaution to mitigate the risk of fires, property damage, or potential casualties.

The disruption has left residents and businesses in the affected areas without gas for cooking and industrial use.

Titas stated that emergency repair teams are currently on-site working to fix the damaged sections of the infrastructure.

While the company expressed its sincere regret for the sudden interruption and the resulting hardship for consumers, it has not yet provided a definitive timeline for when the service will be back online.

Gas supply is expected to be normalised once the repairs are completed and safety checks are finalized.
