The Miyawaki method for a green Dhaka

Published : Wednesday, 6 May, 2026 at 12:00 AM  Count : 63
Dear Sir,

To realize the government's 'National Green Mission' and vision of a 'Clean and Green Dhaka', the Miyawaki Method offers a practical and transformative solution. With a target of planting 25 crore trees in five years, allocating a portion to urban areas through this method could significantly enhance climate resilience and ecological balance.

The Miyawaki Method-developed by Akira Miyawaki-creates dense, native, multi-layered forests that grow up to 10 times faster and become self-sustaining within 2-3 years. These "tiny forests" can thrive in small spaces, making them ideal for congested urban areas.

By using indigenous species, these forests boost biodiversity, improve soil health, enhance water retention, and act as natural air filters.
