At least eight people have died, and 36 have been injured after a fire broke out at the Arghavan shopping centre in Andisheh city, west of Tehran, local media has reported.

The shopping complex caught on fire on Tuesday due to the cladding of the building being flammable, according to Iran’s judiciary newspaper, Mizan.

Videos of the fire shared across Iranian media, including the IRNA news agency, showed the building engulfed in flames.

Iranian radio broadcaster IRIB said that an order has been issued to identify and arrest those responsible for this incident, as well as the property developer.
