Rain likely to continue in parts of country: BMD

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain and thunder showers in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours commencing from 9:00 AM on Friday.

According to a Met office bulletin issued in the morning, rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds and lightning flashes may occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna and Sylhet divisions.

The weather is likely to remain mainly dry in other parts of the country, the bulletin said.

BMD also forecast a slight rise in both day and night temperatures across the country.

On Thursday, the highest temperature was recorded at 34.8 degrees Celsius in Jashore and Chandpur, while the lowest temperature on Friday was 19.8 degrees Celsius in Jashore.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:31 PM on Friday and rise at 5:19 AM on Saturday.
