Nahid Rana has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for April following his outstanding performances in Bangladesh’s recent ODI series win over New Zealand national cricket team.
The 23-year-old fast bowler earned a place on the three-man shortlist after playing a key role in Bangladesh’s 2-1 series victory and being named Player of the Series.
Rana took eight wickets in three matches while maintaining an economy rate of 4.46. His standout performance came in the second ODI in Mirpur, where he produced a match-winning spell of 5-32 to help Bangladesh secure a 55-run victory over New Zealand.
He added two more wickets in the final ODI in Chattogram to cap an impressive series.
The Bangladeshi pacer will compete for the award against Jatinder Singh of Oman and Ajay Kumar of the United Arab Emirates.
The winner will be selected through votes cast by the ICC Voting Academy and cricket fans worldwide via the ICC’s official website.
