Bangladesh national cricket team were bowled out for 413 in their first innings on the second day of the opening Test against Pakistan national cricket team at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Lower-order contributions helped Bangladesh cross the 400-run mark after the side resumed strongly in Mirpur.

Tailenders Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana added useful runs in the final-wicket partnership, with Taskin smashing 28 off 19 balls while Nahid remained unbeaten on four from 23 deliveries.

After lunch, veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim was dismissed by Shaheen Shah Afridi after scoring a determined 71.

Earlier, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto laid the foundation with a century, scoring 101, while Mominul Haque contributed 91.

Pakistan’s pace attack led the bowling effort, with Mohammad Abbas claiming his sixth five-wicket haul in Test cricket. Shaheen Afridi finished with three wickets.

Ahead of the match, Shanto had expressed hope that Bangladesh would post more than 400 runs in the first innings, a target his side achieved comfortably.

It was the 29th occasion Bangladesh crossed the 400-run mark in the first innings of a Test match.

Notably, Bangladesh have not lost any of their last 10 Tests in which they scored 400 or more in the first innings.
