Remain vigilant to uphold rule of law: Law Minister

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman on Saturday  urged judges and government institutions to remain alert against corruption, warning failures within the justice system can undermine public confidence, the rule of law and human rights.

Both the government and the judiciary must remain vigilant against corruption to uphold the rule of law, judicial credibility and public confidence in the justice delivery system, he added.

Minister made this remark while inaugurating the 20th 'orientation course' for additional district and sessions judges at the Judicial Administration Training Institute complex in the capital.

Addressing trainee judges, he said, "Judges should ensure justice by choosing the right decision from a place of responsibility. Always try to make the right decision. You ensure justice, and we are by your side."

He further said the government wanted to strengthen public trust in the judiciary and expected judges to discharge their constitutional duties free from obstacles that hinder justice.
