
Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has voiced deep concern over the country's recent political developments, reports of cross-border infiltration, the deterioration of law and order, and challenges facing the national economy. The party's leadership also outlined future organizational priorities and strategic directions during a key policy meeting.
The issues were discussed at a meeting of the party’s Central Working Committee held on Wednesday at the Al-Falah Auditorium in Moghbazar, Dhaka. The meeting was chaired by Opposition Leader and Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and attended by members of the party’s Central Executive Council and Central Working Committee.
According to party sources, participants reviewed a range of national issues, including the current political climate, border security concerns, illegal infiltration across the country's frontiers, public safety, and economic challenges. Organizational preparations ahead of the party’s upcoming Central Majlis-e-Shura session were also discussed.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said Jamaat-e-Islami has continued its political activities through constitutional and democratic processes despite facing various challenges and obstacles throughout its history.
He claimed that the party has made significant contributions to democratic movements and national politics over the years and is currently working to raise issues of public concern in parliament as part of its role in the opposition. Expressing concern over the country's law-and-order situation, the Jamaat chief alleged that extortion, land grabbing, corruption, and political violence have increased in recent months. He said these developments have heightened public anxiety regarding security and governance.
Addressing economic issues, Dr. Rahman pointed to challenges in the banking sector and called for responsible, long-term policy measures to ensure economic stability. He also stressed the need for greater transparency and accountability in economic management.
Party leaders at the meeting emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline, patience, and responsible conduct among members in light of the country's evolving political and social environment. They also reaffirmed their commitment to playing a constructive role on issues related to national interests and public welfare.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said Bangladesh is facing a number of domestic and international challenges that require careful and prudent responses. He urged party members to remain vigilant, patient, and strategic in their political activities.
The meeting concluded with directives regarding organisational programmes and preparations for upcoming party activities and policy initiatives.
Meanwhile, four individuals have been expelled by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka South following a probe into an incident involving journalists during an anti-fascism protest rally in Dhanmondi. The decision was made based on the recommendations of an internal investigation committee, while the party also expressed regret over the incident and reiterated its commitment to ensuring accountability.
