Prison inmate dies in Brahmanbaria jail

 
BRAHMANBARIA, May 18: An inmate serving a three-month sentence in a drug-related case died at the Brahmanbaria District Jail on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Moron Mia, 40, a resident of Dharmondol Village under Dharmondol union in Nasirnagar Upazila.
According to jail authorities, Moron Mia fell ill around 10:30am inside the prison. He was rushed to Brahmanbaria District Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty at the emergency department declared him dead at about 11:00am.
Jail Superintendent Md Mujibur Rahman Majumdar said Moron Mia had been sent to jail on May 9 after being sentenced to three months by a mobile court for consuming yaba.
About an hour after breakfast on Monday morning, he suddenly felt dizzy and collapsed while sitting with several other inmates, the jail superintendent said.
