Railway adds extra coaches to ease Eid rush

Ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, the Western Railway authorities have decided to add extra coaches to nine intercity trains to accommodate the increased rush of homebound passengers. A special train service will also operate between Joydebpur and Parbatipur during the Eid travel period.

According to the railway officials, the additional coaches will be introduced in phases from May 23 to June 7. One extra coach will be attached before Eid, while two additional coaches will be added after Eid to manage the return passenger pressure. Both Shovon and AC coaches will be inluded to increase overall capacity.

The trains receiving additional coaches are: Bonolota Express, Silkcity Express, Padma Express, Dhumketu Express, Drutajan Express, Panchagarh Express, Ekota Express, Rocket/Neelphamari Express, and Sirajganj Express. However, train no. 793 of the Panchagarh Express will remain suspended on May 27.
