Leader of the Opposition in Parliament and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that the teachings of sacrifice from Eid-ul-Azha inspire the establishment of a society based on justice, equality and freedom from exploitation.

In a statement issued on Sunday on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha, he extended greetings to the people of the country and highlighted the spiritual and moral significance of the festival. He said Eid-ul-Azha carries a timeless message of devotion, obedience and sacrifice to the Almighty Allah, which should guide both individual and collective life.

Referring to the great legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), his wife Hazrat Hajera and his son Prophet Ismail (AS), the Jamaat Ameer said their unwavering faith and ultimate sacrifice remain a source of inspiration for all believers. He noted that Eid-ul-Azha teaches Muslims to dedicate themselves fully to the will of Allah and to be willing to sacrifice personal desires and possessions for a higher moral purpose.

"The lessons of Qurbani encourage us to remove social inequality and establish a society free from oppression, exploitation and injustice," he said. According to him, true observance of Eid requires translating the spirit of sacrifice into real-life actions that ensure fairness in social, political and economic systems.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman stressed that individuals, communities and the state must uphold justice and integrity in all spheres of life. He called for the proper application of Islamic values to build a balanced and humane society where the rights of all citizens are protected.
