Four dead as bus overturns in Dhaka

At least four passengers and 10 others were injured after a bus crashed into another bus in Dhaka's Nadda area on Wednesday.

The decesed were identified as Lyzu Begum, 38, and his husband Kabir Zamadder, 47; Khushi Begum, 35, and Rabiul Islam, 22.

The driver and helper of the bus fled the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred approximately 6AM when a speeding bus belonging to Islam Paribahan operating on the Dhaka-Barishal route rammed into an Akash Paribahan bus from behind and overturned. 

The impact severely damaged the rear right side of the Akash Paribahan bus, leaving four dead on the spot and 10 others injured.

The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and Kurmitola General Hospital.
