BGB interrupts BSF push-in through Hakimpur border

180 kept in BSF custody

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) tried to push some of its citizens into Bangladesh claiming they were Bangladeshi nationals through through India’s Hakimpur border opposite to the Kakdanga border in Satkhira.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) beefed up patrolling since Tuesday night.

Satkhira 33 BGB Captain Lieutenant Colonel Kazi Ashiqur Rahman said this on Wednesday.

He said, ‘BSF is believed to be able to try this push-in on any side of the border. BGB is on alert.’

According to a Kolkata-based journalist, some 110 people were kept at a 'shelter home' across Hakimpur bordering area under Baduria police station in North 24 Parganas district. Some 70 more people were kept there until May 27 morning. A total of 180 people are in kept in BSF custody while writing this report.
