The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on May 23 published the list of valid candidates for its Board of Directors Election-2026, paving the way for voting on June 7 to elect the country's cricket administrators for the next term.

In Category-3, Sirajuddin Md Alamgir of the University of Chittagong (Voter No. 154) emerged as the lone valid candidate and was elected unopposed for the single director's post allocated to the category.
The election will fill a total of 23 director positions - 10 from Category-1, 12 from Category-2 and one from Category-3.
Voting and result declaration are scheduled for June 7 at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur. The election schedule, announced earlier this month, set May 23 for scrutiny of nomination papers and publication of the provisional list of candidates, while the final list is due to be published on May 25.
The board election comes at a significant time for Bangladesh cricket administration. Earlier this year, the National Sports Council dissolved the previous BCB board and installed an ad hoc committee headed by former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal to oversee the Board and conduct fresh elections. The June 7 vote is expected to determine the composition of the next elected BCB board.
A total of 33 nomination papers had been submitted for the election across the three categories, from which 23 directors will ultimately be elected to the Board.
