Cabinet hails FM’s election as UNGA President

The Cabinet has congratulated Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman on his election as President of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, terming it a significant recognition of Bangladesh’s growing global standing.

The congratulatory message was conveyed during a Cabinet meeting held on Thursday night at the Public Administration Hall of the Cabinet Division at the Bangladesh Secretariat, chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The meeting, which began at 7:00pm, lauded the achievement as a reflection of Bangladesh’s diplomatic capacity and the international community’s confidence in the country’s commitment to multilateral cooperation.

Cabinet members said the election of Dr. Rahman to the high office marked a shining example of Bangladesh’s increasing prestige on the global stage.

According to officials, members of the Cabinet and senior secretaries were present at the meeting.
