National Development Engineers (NDE) Ltd. has been awarded the construction responsibility for the National Disaster Management Research and Training Institute to be built in Gazipur.

The foundation stone of the landmark project was laid recently by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at Sataish Chowrasta in Gazipur.

Planned across nearly eight acres of land, the institute will feature a modern administrative complex alongside state-of-the-art residential facilities for trainees. The estimated project cost has been set at approximately Tk 50 crore.

Recognised as one of Bangladesh's leading infrastructure and construction firms, NDE has been entrusted with implementing this nationally significant project. Stakeholders believe the institute will play a vital role in strengthening Bangladesh's disaster preparedness capacity by developing skilled professionals and advancing research in disaster management.

The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Asadul Habib Dulu. Among others, State Minister M. Iqbal Hossain, Secretary Md Saidur Rahman Khan, and Director General of the Department of Disaster Management Rezwanur Rahman addressed the gathering.

The event was attended by the Prime Minister's Defence Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr AKM Shamsul Islam, Member of Parliament Manjurul Karim Rony, Administrator of Gazipur City Corporation Md. Shawkat Hossain Sarkar, senior government officials, and Deputy Managing Director of NDE Ltd. Nirjhor Noor Anwar.
