Import duty on raw materials for skincare, cosmetics to be reduced

The proposed budget for fiscal year 2026-27 includes a reduction in supplementary duty on the import of two key raw materials used in the skincare and beauty products industry.

To encourage local manufacturers of skincare and cosmetic products, the government is proposing to lower the existing 30 per cent supplementary duty on these imported raw materials to 10 per cent.
