Garment workers of NASSA Group have blocked  Dhaka's Tejgaon industrial area, demanding payment of overdue wages.

The workers took up positions on the road in front of Tejgaon Industrial Area Police Station around 11AM, shouting slogans over their demands and cutting off traffic in both directions.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Industrial Zone) Imran Hossain said that traffic on the Tejgaon-Mohakhali road is suspended in both directions after workers took up positions near Love Road.

Workers are being engaged in talks and discussions are also ongoing with senior officials and the management, he added.
