Shama flies to NY

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam left Dhaka to attend Humanitarian Affairs Segment of the United Nations Economic and Social Council in New York on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

 

The three-day event will be held from June 17 to June 19 and is expected to bring together policymakers, diplomats, humanitarian actors and development partners to discuss global humanitarian challenges and response strategies.

 

During her visit, the state minister is expected to participate in discussions and engagements on issues related to humanitarian affairs and international cooperation.

She is scheduled to return home on June 20.
