Tarique’s China visit to focus on political, economic relations

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh Tarique Rahman is scheduled for attending a five-day official visit to Beijing on Monday, June 22, 2026. 

Political and economic relations are expected to take centre stage during the PM’s maiden visit to China. 

Tarique Rahman will hold separate meetings with China’s President, Prime Minister, and the Chairman of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC). According to the schedule, the meetings with China’s top leaders are to be held at the historic Great Hall, with a separate meeting with President Xi Jinping the following day.

Tarique will also attend a climate-related conference and an Investment Summit organised by Bangladesh for Chinese investors. He will travel to Beijing by a high-speed train the day after his arrival. Following the Investment Summit, he is scheduled to hold meetings with Chinese multinational companies Chery, Handa, and Chinatex.
