Deaths from measles, symptoms surpass 700

Four more children died with measles symptoms in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours till 8am on Friday. With this, the total fatalities now stand at 702.  

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), since 15 March, a total of 609 children have so far died with measles-related symptoms while 93 were confirmed measles cases. 

Meanwhile, 869 suspected measles cases were recorded in the last 24 hours till Friday morning while confirmed cases were 107, bringing the totals to 97,522 and 11,549, respectively, said the DGHS data.
