The inaugural dance recital of Kunjolika Sanskriti Kendra, an institution devoted to the promotion of arts and culture, was held successfully on Friday evening at the Chhayanaut Auditorium in Dhaka, turning the venue into a vibrant canvas of rhythm and expression.
The opening segment featured performances by students of various age groups, who presented an array of classical, folk and creative dances. Their spirited participation, ranging from beginners to seasoned performers, captivated the audience and made for a memorable cultural evening, said a press release on Saturday.
The highlight of the programme was the short dance drama Rudra-Bina, conceived, directed and produced by the institution’s director and noted dancer, Brishti Bepari. Centred on the protest, dignity and resilience of women who have suffered sexual violence, the production struck an emotional chord with the audience and received widespread acclaim. It stood as a poignant reminder that, like the phoenix rising from the ashes, courage can emerge from adversity.
During the event, certificates, awards and special honours were awarded to the students of the institution.
